Two grants source are available for updating emergency radio equipment, the state department of public safety and the federal department of homeland security. The grants intend to help building and strengthening preparedness capabilities at all levels through planning, equipment, and readiness activities.These are short descriptions and links to more elaborate discussions.
The goal of the ARMER Integration Grants is to support the continued integration of local units of government to the ARMER system and to achieve the highest practical level of interoperability among state, regional and local public safety officials.
The goal of ARMER Local Enhancement Grants is to support the construction of subsystems of ARMER and communications infrastructure interconnected with ARMER.
The grants support upto 50% of the cost of local enhancements to emergency communications infrastructure. Central Minnesota Radio works with the ARMER grants since 2005.
Each fiscal year Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) provides a primary funding mechanism for building and sustaining national preparedness capabilities. Grant amounts may differ each year. HSGP is comprised of five interconnected grant programs:
